ABOUT ME
Thanks for visiting my site! I'm thrilled about the warm reception Visions and Dreams... has gotten so far and I hope that I can continue being an author that many will enjoy reading for years to come. I also hope to have an opportunity someday to get to know my readers as my readers can get to know me a little better by reading this page. God bless!
I'm a native of Birmingham, Alabama and attended college at the University of Alabama, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in English in 1991. Music has been a passion of mine since the age of eight. By high school, I learned to play several instruments and started playing professionally and recording. Since I was only able to find work as a substitute or temporary English teacher after college, I went back to school to earn a Master's in English. I then became a full-time college professor who traveled extensively performing music in the summer months between semesters; recording, writing and also producing songs for record labels in my spare time. As I was not eligible for tenure with only a Master's degree, it seemed better for me to change professions rather than earn a doctorate in English. After returning to school once again, I later was conferred an MBA and then became a paid business consultant for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and after two years of government employment, I transitioned into becoming a verified business expert in the private sector while still performing and recording music.
In terms of my faith, I identify as Christian. I was raised in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. and was baptized at an early age as a member of Miller Memorial United Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama. After college, I worked with other Christian and Jewish organizations and became ordained as an interfaith minister in 2001.
